Covid-19 Camping Rules and Advice

Please read this carefully before proceeding to the booking form

In order to operate Meets and THS’s in a responsible manner for both Members and Voluntary Officers please note the procedures outlined below.

  • Observe social distancing procedures following Government Guidance.
  • Observe strict hygiene and cleaning procedures.
  • Take a risk-based approach consistent with Health and Safety Law and emergency Corona Virus legislation.
  • Campers are responsible for bringing their own hand sanitiser and cleaning items with them prior to arrival on-site.
  • A Meet and THS is a Camp Site by which each member has a pitch.  It is not a social gathering and no activities of social gathering are to occur on the Camp Site.
  • Campers should be made aware that there are strictly NO day visitors to the site.

Booking In

  • If possible the Stewards will work from a non-habited shelter.
  • Campers are not permitted to enter the shelter.
  • Check in will open at 10am and close at 8pm each day.
  • Campers must stand at a distance in accordance with Government Guidelines.
  • The Steward will keep an up-to-date log with contact details of who is on-site and who has been on-site as a requirement in order to comply with Track and Trace.  These details will be kept for 21 days after you have left the Camp Site.

Payments

  • There is a pre-booking system in place for payments to be made electronically prior to arrival.  Where additional payments are required the Steward will have a contactless payment reader.  Contactless payments are preferred and you can use either a Credit or Debit Card.
  • Cash will only be taken as a last resort.

Pitching

  • To ensure social distancing units will be pitched a minimum of 6 metres apart.
  • Campers will be instructed where to pitch by the Steward to ensure the Camp Site remains manageable.

Signage

  • There will be clear signage throughout the Camp Site not only reinforcing operational procedures but as a reminder of general Covid-19 safety protocols.
  • The new NHS track and trace QR code will be visible at all sites and if you have the technology to scan the code please do.

Social Gatherings

  • Campers are reminded that this is an individually pitched Camp Site and not a social event or gathering.
  • Campers will be reminded to be mindful of the guidelines outlined by the Stewards to ensure site teams and fellow campers are safe at all times.
  • Social gatherings are not allowed whilst on-site and this applies but not limited to:
    • Communal BBQ’s other than within your camping group.
    • Marquees for social group gatherings.
    • Bingo/group games.
    • Sports and team events.
    • Discos and group entertainment.
    • Gatherings and/or social events are not permitted on-site unless within agreed Government social bubbles.
  • No members to gather in awnings or caravans (unless Government Guidelines allow).
  • Campers are encouraged to not let your children roam unsupervised around the Camp Site so that they do not inadvertently break social distancing rules.

Water taps, Chemical Disposal Points and Bin Areas

  • Only adults are permitted to use water taps.
  • Only one person is allowed in the marked off area around the tap/disposal point at any one time.
  • The camper is fully responsible to clean up any spillages.
  • The Steward will ensure that these areas are wiped down on a regular basis but campers are also encouraged to use their own wipes and cleaning agents prior to use.
  • Due to enhanced cleaning requirements the Camp Site will be a non-facility camping event.  This means there should be no communal facilities other than the water, elsan and bin areas. All campers should use their own private facilities within their unit.

What happens if a camper becomes ill

  • The camper and their party must leave site immediately and return home and seek appropriate medical guidance.
  • The Steward will close and clean all operational areas and submit an incident form to Head Office.
